What a Fun Day!!

So we had a VERY fun day today!! I think we were both getting a little stir crazy being cooped up in this house for over a week now, so Aunt Courtney and Maverick came up and we headed out for a day of fun!

First we went over to our friend Heather's house. She has a 2 year old son Carter. Carleigh was obviously too little to play with the boys, but the boys had fun while us mommies could talk. Then it was off to lunch - we were all pretty hungry. After lunch we went to Wal Mart...which is always fun hehe.

I am absolutely convinced that I have the best baby in the whole entire world too haha. Miss Carleigh Jeanne was so good ALL day! She slept right through lunch and Wal Mart. Maverick slept through Wal Mart too...in the cart! We all had a pretty busy day!

Happy Birthday!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CARLEIGH! She is 1 week old today!! Holy cow that went by fast already...I have to go back to work in 5 weeks :o( Why can't we be like England - 1 year paid maternity leave. I am already dreading going back to work. Too bad the stupid world revolves around money.

Well here is a picture of Tank watching over Carleigh today while she took a nap in her swing. She has come to love her swing! And to think I wasn't going to even get one!!

Very Busy Baby!

So we had a very busy weekend! Sunday was Grandma McKellar's 80th birthday party. So Carleigh got to go for a visit to meet her great grandma and even more family! Then after that we stopped to meet Tisha and one of Carleigh's many boyfriend's JT. Even though we slept through most of it...I am sure she had fun hehe :o)

Then today Carleigh had her first doctor's appointment!! Dr. Barker said she was PERFECT. Of course her father and I already knew this, but it was very nice to hear it from a medical professional!! Of course before we had our doctor's appointment we needed a little bit of a bath...we can't possibly take a stinky baby to the doctor! This is her second bath, well sponge bath, and she definately enjoyed this one a little more than the first!

Sleepy Baby

So it is absolutely true what they say about babies...eat, sleep, poop...and poop some more!! Brian is astonished at how much poop this child can produce! Auntie Dee, Gramma Nanci and Auntie Summer came up to visit us today. I think Carleigh had fun cause she actually stayed awake for a bit while everyone was here :o)

First Night Home

Well we survived the first night!! Unfortunately we are in the middle of a big snowstorm - so you know what that means...daddy was gone plowing all night :o/

Carleigh was very good for mommy though. She wakes up about every 3 hours for some food and a diaper change and we're back to sleep! However...mommy was too worried last night so she really didn't sleep too much haha. I had to keep telling myself to relax, and breath. Once I took a deep breath I realized why my back and neck was so sore! I was so tense haha just worried that miss Carleigh was warm enough, and that she was ok. But we survived! And now miss Carleigh is sleeping on mommy's chest while I write this blog.

And Tank is very concerned with his new baby sister. Every time she makes a peep he has to check on her. Sometimes he just sits next to the bassinet and watches everything I do to her.

First Night Home

After a conversation with Auntie Erin...it was decided that a Carleigh page was in order...so here we go! It may take me a little time to get a hang of this...but we'll try!

As I sit here looking at Brian and his little girl sleeping on the couch I am thinking back over the past couple days. Holy Cow! Who would have thought that your life could change so drastically. I always knew that I would love Carleigh with all of my being when she arrived...because that's just what you do when you have a baby. But I never imagined how much this little girl could move me. I look at her and just cry! I am so amazed that Brian and I could make something so beautiful and perfect. I have never felt this much joy - it really is amazing.

Watching the two of them sleep I can't help but smile. Carleigh looks SO much like her daddy it is crazy!! They look exactly alike right now - it is just so adorable!
